I’m taking a break from my work on the comedy Afterlife series so I can come back to it later with fresh eyes. In the meantime, I’m trying my hand at a crime novel with some speculative elements. Think the TV show Castle or Michael Connelly’s Harry Bosch books but with a sci-fi twist.
I’m also trying out some of the techniques Lisa Cron’s book Story Genius (more here). Not all of it is for me, but I think some of it is certainly helping me so far.
Don’t worry I’ll get back to Derek and co once I’ve finished the first draft on this one I just needed a break to let it sit.
